The term ‘bus shelter’ is a misnomer since they offer shelter for people waiting to catch a bus.

It appears, according to Hamilton Redditors, though, that a shelter in Ancaster was smashed on Wednesday afternoon after it caught the business end of Hamilton Street Railway bus. Based on the background setting in the photograph, the collision would have taken place in the Meadowlands Power Centre on Golf Links Road.

The stop is on the No. 5 route, and the transit55.ca site that offers real-time bus tracking shows that an HSR bus that was serving the No. 5 route on Wednesday was taken out of service some time after 3 p.m.
