A man is facing sexual assault and assault charges in connection with two separate incidents earlier this week at a north Mississauga shopping mall in which three women were the targets of aggressive behaviour.

In what Peel Regional Police describe as a “stranger sexual assault,” a woman was approached by a man while in a restaurant at Meadowvale Town Centre at about 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

“The woman reported being approached by a man who began making unwanted sexual advances towards her aggressively,” police said in a news release.

Investigators say the man allegedly continued with his advances until restaurant staff intervened.

According to police, the woman was not physically injured and the man was given a trespass notice banning him from the shopping mall for one year.

Later the same day, at about 6 p.m., police say, a man entered a restaurant at the same shopping mall and was reported to have tried to steal a bottle of alcohol.

After the man was asked to leave, “a confrontation ensued and two female employees were assaulted,” police said, adding the women weren’t physically injured.

Police arrested a man a short time later.

Oloruntimilehin Ojeikere, 21, of no fixed address, is charged with sexual assault and two counts of assault.

He’s being held pending a bail hearing in Brampton court.

Police are looking into other incidents, both in Ontario and British Columbia, in which the suspect is believed to have been involved.

They say the man may be linked to “suspicious persons” reports. In those cases, there were no assaults alleged, police add.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-453-3311, ext. 1133, or Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
