Severe thunderstorms, possible hail for Hamilton, Niagara, Burlington and Oakville

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for parts of Ontario this afternoon (Sept 12), including Hamilton, Niagara, Burlington and Oakville.

Conditions are favourable for severe thunderstorms this evening, some of which will be capable of producing wind gusts up to 90 km/h, large hail up to 2 cm in diameter and locally heavy rainfall, according to Environment Canada.

Residents are advised to stay indoors when threatening weather approaches, as severe thunderstorms are capable of causing injury and damage to property.
