The Halton District School Board cancelled several school bus routes on Friday (Dec. 17) due to a driver shortage.

As of publication, 11 routes were cancelled and 11 others are experiencing significant delays Friday morning, the last day of school before the holiday break.

The HDSB said that the driver shortage is a result of an increasing number of high-risk COVID-19 exposures that require the drivers to self-isolate.

Information on the routes affected by the shortage can be found on the board’s bus planner website, which is continually updated.
