Several additional nights of lane and ramp closures on the QEW in Mississauga are scheduled for this week and next week as work continues on the rehabilitation of the highway bridge over the Credit River.

Officials with the QEW/Credit River Improvement Project, who are overseeing the massive undertaking, say the latest in a series of ongoing, temporary lane and ramp closures will take place, weather permitting, on Aug. 23, 25, 26, 29 and 31.

The following closures are in effect for the nights of Aug. 23, 25, 29 and 31:

  • two QEW westbound lanes from Hurontario St. to the Credit River bridge–first lane from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., second lane from midnight to 5 a.m.
  • Hurontario St. on-ramp to westbound QEW–from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Project officials say minor traffic disruptions are anticipated as transport trucks will be delivering and off-loading construction materials.

The following closures are in effect for the nights of Aug. 25-26:

  • two QEW eastbound lanes from Mississauga Rd. to Hurontario St.–first lane from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., second lane from midnight to 5 a.m.
  • QEW eastbound off-ramp to Hurontario St.–from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Again, work crews anticipate minor traffic disruptions due to nighttime construction activities.

Closure dates are subject to change due to weather.

As work continues on the massive Credit River bridge project, drivers and area residents can expect ongoing traffic disruptions to impact part of the QEW and other areas in the vicinity of Mississauga Rd. and the highway in the coming weeks and months.

Night and weekend work along the 2.6-km stretch of the QEW from Hurontario St. to Mississauga Rd. is expected to impact traffic for the duration of construction.
