Town Brewery was happy busy on the holiday Monday, with several hundred IPA lovers paying the Whitby waterfront brewery a visit for its Down with the Thickness – A Day to Celebrate Everything IPA festival.

Town opened its doors on the holiday for the event, offering IPAs from 10 different Ontario breweries, as well as their own, as a way to support their friends and as a showcase of the collaborative nature of the craft beer industry.

“We were very busy,” said taproom manager Caitlyn Anderson. “We love supporting our friends across Ontario. And what better way to do it than with a celebration of IPAs?”

The brewery was open from noon to six for the event and had Lowland Fire Food, an Oshawa-based mobile wood-fire pizza caterer, to supply the eats along with guest taps from Slake (Picton), Collective Arts and Fairweather (Hamilton), Sawdust City (Gravenhurst), Willibald (Ayr), Badlands (Caledon), Rorschach, Muddy York and Bellwoods (Toronto) and Fine Balance (Kingston).

Town Brewery is located on Charles Street near the Whitby harbour.
