Several holiday-themed events happening at Garden Square in downtown Brampton this weekend

This weekend, the Downtown Brampton BIA is organizing Shine Bright Celebration, during which residents will be able to take in the Christmas lights, support local businesses, and enjoy more than 30 different restaurants and food shops.
On Friday (November 26), businesses will be open until 9 p.m., and attendees will be able to Follow the map and collect stickers from participating businesses to be entered to win $150 in Downtown Dollars.
Additionally, those considering doing some of their holiday shopping will receive a Present Card with a surprise gift inside with any purchase—there are $550 in gifts and prizes to be awarded.
Further, kids will be able to read Deck the Halls: A Canadian Christmas Carol by Helaine Becker, and they’ll even be able to follow the story and be entered for a chance to win a gift basket worth more than $100.
There will even be screenings of classic holiday movies on the big screen at Garden Square, including Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, A Charlie Brown Christmas and more.
Festivities start on Friday at 5 p.m., and, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., kids will be able to enjoy a free hot chocolate and snap a picture with Santa Claus.
On Saturday, activities start at 10 a.m. and last until 5 p.m.
From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. there will be a live ice carving demonstration, and then at 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. there will be an opportunity to make free snowflake crafts.
