Seven alumni from Oshawa to Pickering honoured by Durham Catholic school board

Seven graduates from Durham Catholic high schools from Pickering to Oshawa were honoured last week with Distinguished Catholic Alumni Awards.
A graduate from each Durham Catholic secondary school received the award from the Durham District Catholic School Board.
“Our Distinguished Catholic Alumni Award recipients are exemplary role models of the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations,” Education Director Tracy Barill. “Each recipient is a source of inspiration for our current students as they have used their God-given talents to contribute to their chosen field or pathway.”
The 2023 Durham Catholic Distinguished Alumni Award recipients are:
- Marla Brennan, All Saints Catholic Secondary School, Whitby
- Melanie Ruttle, Father Leo. J. Austin Catholic Secondary School, Whitby
- Deborah de Ville, Archbishop Denis O’Connor Catholic High School, Ajax
- Raina Kamdar, Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School, Ajax
- Aaron David Vandermeer, Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School, Oshawa
- Andrea Spinner, Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School, Oshawa
- Matthew Vocino, St. Mary Catholic Secondary School, Pickering
