A semi-detached house in Milton recently sold for $300,000 over asking.

The semi-detached home located in the Harrison neighbourhood of Milton, which was listed on Feb. 3, 2022, for $999,900, sold just three days later for over $300,000 over asking, according to HouseSigma, which estimated the home value at $1,168,170.

While many are hoping for a change in the market this spring, competitive pricing for this two-storey home, which features a built-in garage, three bedrooms, three bathrooms and an unfinished basement, could be a window into what prospective homeowners in Milton could be facing this year.

There are currently several other semi-detached homes on the market in the Harrison neighbourhood of Milton, each of which are selling for almost $1 million or more.

Last year, many prospective home buyers were forced to turn away from the increasingly high prices of homes in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) due to competitive bidding wars.

In fact, back in November 2021, a land lease that came with a renovated caboose became available in the Milton area that provided prospective buyers looking to enter the market with a different and possibly more viable option.

So far, this year is looking to be no different in terms of competitive pricing, however, low inventory in the housing market is proving to be an additional issue that prospective buyers are now facing.
