See the sights and services available in Brampton with newcomer bus tour

New to Brampton and unsure about city services? The free newcomer bus tour is back to help Bramptonians get to know their new home.

The award-winning program organized by Brampton Library and Brampton Transit returns for two sessions in August this year, and gives new Brampton residents a chance to get familiar with city services and landmarks.

This year’s tours will start and end at Mount Pleasant Village Branch Library, within walking distance of the Mount Pleasant GO Station and served by GO Train, GO Bus, and Brampton Transit routes.

“Residents who are not yet members of Brampton Library are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early to sign up for a free library card at the event,” the Brampton Library says.

Some stops on past tours include the Cassie Campbell Community Centre, The Rose Brampton Theatre, Chinguacousy Park, bus and train stations, and library branches among others.

Brampton residents who arrived in the city after Jan 1, 2025, are eligible and can reserve their spot for free by calling the Library at 905-793-4636 or visiting the online events calendar on the Library website.

Attendees participating as a family or group must register each guest individually. Space is limited, and participants are encouraged to register early to avoid missing out.

The tour has been recognized in past years with the Angus Mowat Award for Excellence in Public Library Service, the American Public Library Association Upstart Innovation Award in and an award from The Canadian Urban Transit Association.
