The secondary plan for the Georgetown GO station area and Mill St. Corridor is currently under review and the Town of Halton Hills is seeking community feedback as a result.

Currently, input from residents on cultural and natural heritage, transportation, urban design, sustainability and parks and open spaces is wanted.

Residents are also invited to join an upcoming virtual information session, where they will have the opportunity to learn more about the secondary planning process, meet the project team and join in on the discussion.

The session will take place on June 20 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. via Zoom.

The original plan for the Georgetown GO station area and Mill St. Corridor was adopted back in 2010.

Key priorities for the review include balancing redevelopment and intensification objectives while preserving existing low-density neighbourhoods and identifying the potential for transit-oriented development in areas closest to the Georgetown GO station.

Additionally, they include ensuring that the objectives of the Mill St. Corridor Precinct Neighbourhood Study are considered in the secondary plan update.

The two-year project will be carried out over four phases and will be informed by public input as well as several technical studies while building on the key objectives of the original plan.
