A second case of COVID-19 has been reported at an Oakville school.
A second case of COVID-19 has been reported at an Oakville school.
St. Marguerite d’Youville Catholic Elementary School on 1359 Bayshire Dr., in the Ninth Line and Upper Middle Rd. area, has been confirmed as the location by the Halton Catholic District School Board website.
A source says the case involves a staff member who was at the school for training sessions from Sept. 1-3.
A spokesperson for the board says because the school was closed at the time, students were not at risk.
The board reports staff with the school were notified on Monday by Halton Public Health and letters were sent to parents the next day.
As well, Halton Public Health has completed its contact tracing procedure and staff members who were in close contact with the individual have been ordered to self-isolate for 14 days. The school also underwent a thorough cleaning and disinfection prior to opening yesterday (Sept. 9) to students.
Yesterday the first case of COVID was revealed at a Halton school when it was announced a staff member at Oodenawi Public School in Oakville had tested positive after attending training sessions at that school the previous week.
