Search ongoing for Hamilton man wanted on Canada-wide warrant who is known to frequent Burlington, Oakville and Milton

The provincial police have reaffirmed that they are searching for a federal offender, who was living in Hamilton when he allegedly breached his parole six months ago.

The Ontario Provincial Police ROPE squad (Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement)
squad is asking for the public’s assistance in locating George Hasler, a 57-year-old convict. He is known to frequent the Hamilton and Halton areas, including Burlington, Oakville and Milton.

Hasler is wanted a Canada-wide warrant. He is serving a two-year, seven-month, 15-day sentence after being convicted of two counts of theft under $5,000, break and enter to commit an offence, possession of property obtained by crime for trafficking under $5,000, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and theft of a motor vehicle. He is also wanted on a count of flight while being pursued by a peace officer.

He is described as a white man who is six feet tall and 250 pounds. He and is bald with a fringe of brown hair and has brown eyes.

The ROPE squad first alerted the public to the search for Hasler on May 6.

He was required to stay clean as part of his statutory release. He failed a urine test in mid-March. When officers went to Hasler’s home in Hamilton, they discovered he had fled.
