An adult male shot Tuesday afternoon (May 8) at Chinguacousy Park in Brampton remains in stable condition in a nearby hospital.

In an early evening update provided by Peel Regional Police, the victim has non-life-threatening injuries in what they believe is an isolated incident. No details of the suspect’s identity have been released.

A portion of the park remains closed why Peel police continue their investigation.

The shooting took place shortly before 2:30 p.m. in the area of Chinguacousy Park

Close to a dozen schools in the area of Queen St. and Bramalea Rd. were placed on hold-and-secure orders as a precaution while police investigated. At 4:45 p.m., all orders were lifted.

The person shot was transported to hospital in stable condition. A spokesperson for Peel for Peel Paramedic Services says an adult male victim was treated at the scene for a gunshot wound.
