Scratching during the Leafs game nets Burlington resident $100,000

For Burlington resident Lori Keenan, when you get the itch, you got to scratch…even if it happens while watching the hockey game.
The itch, of course, is to win some cash and the quickest way to do it is through a scratch lottery ticket.
While big earnings were on her mind, she still couldn’t believe it when she scratched an Instant Jazzy Riches card and discovered she hit the $100,000 jackpot.
“I was watching the Leafs game while I scratched the ticket and thought I won $1,000,” she said. “I scanned the ticket on the OLG app and saw more zeros! I had to scan it again – I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”
In shock, Keenan said she woke up her husband, saying, “I think I won the lottery!” He too, could not believe it was real.
Keenan said she chose the Instant Jazzy Riches scratch ticket because of its vibrant purple colour. Her selection has now changed her life.

“We didn’t sleep that night and I can’t even remember if the Leafs won. It felt like a dream, and I kept thinking, ‘How did I end up with this ticket?’ I am so thankful for this win,” she said while claiming her prize at the OLG (Ontario Lottery and Gaming) Centre in Toronto.
She plans to invest some of her winnings, as well as treat herself to a little shopping spree. Maybe even some playoff tickets?
Jazzy Riches is available for $5 a play and the top prize is $100,000. Odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.92.
The winning ticket was purchased at Fortinos on New Street in Burlington.
