Schools under hold and secure as police respond to reports of man with knife in Brampton

Three Brampton schools are currently under hold and secure due to a potential weapons incident.

Police have been called to the area of Father Tobin Rd and Fernforest Dr for reports of a male armed with a knife.

No threats or injuries have been reported at this time.

The male is described as a South Asian in his 20s, with short dark hair, facial hair, and wearing a dark grey hooded sweater.

Lougheed Middle School, Carberry Public School, and Springdale Public School are under hold and secure.

More information to come as the investigation continues.

The weapon reports came in at around 11:40 a.m., police say.

UPDATE: 

Police were unable to locate the armed male anywhere in the area, police confirmed at 1:22 p.m.

All hold and secures have been lifted.
