School under lockdown for report of student with weapon in Mississauga

A Mississauga school is under lockdown as police respond to a weapon report this afternoon (June 14).

Police were called at 1:11 p.m. for a report of a student walking through the hall with a weapon in the area of Erin Centre Blvd and Glen Erin Dr.

St. Aloysius Gonzaga Catholic Secondary School is currently under lockdown, while John Fraser Public Secondary School is under hold and secure.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

UPDATE (1:55 p.m.): Police say they have located the student but not the weapon, with the student indicating that the weapon is not real.

The lockdown and hold and secure remain in place as officers continue to investigate.

UPDATE (2:10 p.m.): Police have confirmed that the weapon is not real. The lockdown and hold and secure have been lifted.
