School bus crashes carrying children in Whitby, Ontario

A truck driver is in serious condition in hospital after a collision with a school bus carrying children this afternoon in north Whitby.
The accident happened on Hwy 12 north of Myrtle Road near the hamlet of Myrtle Station.
The truck driver had to be airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre but no injuries were reported to the children, on their way home from school, or the bus driver.
Hwy 12 is closed both ways between Myrtle Road and Townline Road while the OPP investigates the collision.
