A blizzard warning and snow squalls have led to school bus cancellations in parts of southern Ontario.
Environment and Climate Change issued blizzard warnings for Bruce County, Kincardine, Saugeen Shores, Tobermory, Bruce Peninsula, Sauble Beach and south to Stratford and southern Perth County. Snow squall warnings were issued for the Niagara Region and areas north of the Greater Toronto Area on Monday.
The weather warnings have led to school bus cancellations.
Here is a breakdown of school bus cancellations.
Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board
Buses to St. Andrew, St. Peter, St. Benedict, and Dufferin County buses to Robert F. Hall are cancelled today due to local road and weather conditions. All schools are open.
District School Board of Niagara and Niagara District Catholic School Board
Student transportation is cancelled for the Niagara District School Board in Fort Erie, Port Colborne and Wainfleet. Schools in these areas are open. At this time, transportation in Niagara Falls and Welland is running.
In all other areas, transportation is running and schools are open.
Buses are also cancelled for Catholic schools in south Niagara today. This includes Lakeshore Catholic High School, all Catholic elementary schools in Port Colborne, all Catholic elementary schools in Fort Erie, and St. Elizabeth Catholic Elementary School in Wainfleet.
Simcoe County
Buses in north Simcoe County including Elmvale, Midland, Penetanguishene and Orillia, are cancelled.
