Santa Claus is returning soon to Hamilton’s Limeridge Mall

Santa Claus is coming (back!) to town this year.

CF Limeridge Mall will be welcoming back the jolly old elf for the 2021 holiday season and offering safe experiences for families wanting to connect with him face-to-face between Nov. 19 and Dec. 24.

Last year, Santa visited with families virtually from his home in the North Pole as COVID-19 safety protocols prevented face-to-face interactions.

This year, however, Santa and his elves have made special preparations to ensure that everyone stays safe while they visit with him.

According to a press release issued by the mall’s owner, Cadillac Fairview (CF), Santa’s log cabin has been carefully designed with health and safety protocols in mind, and bookings will be staggered to allow for cleaning between each visit.

Visitors will be asked COVID-19 pre-screening questions prior to meeting with Santa and may be required to show proof of vaccination based on provincial regulations.

In accordance with COVID-19 safety guidelines, Santa, his helpers and guests will be physically distanced and required to wear masks at all times.

Visits with Santa will be by reservation only and a $5 fee will apply to each booking. All fees will be donated to Empowerment Squared and CF will be matching the donation.

Hamilton’s Empowerment Squared is a non-profit organization that provides programming and support to newcomer, racialized, and marginalized communities in the city and beyond.

For families who want to experience a magical time with Santa from the comfort of their own home, CF hosts its second annual ‘CF Storytime with Santa’ on Limeridge’s Facebook Live channel.

Over three sessions on December 4 and December 18, Santa will read holiday stories by Canadian authors, in both English and French, joined by special surprise guests.
