Police have charged a Brampton man with drug trafficking and other offences after leading officers of a pursuit in Niagara Falls.
The incident happened on April 13 when an officer tried to stop a vehicle on Valley Way, the Niagara Regional Police Service says.
But the driver of the vehicle didn’t stop for police and fled the scene, investigators say.
Officers managed to locate and arrest the male suspect after a short foot pursuit, and police say the man was a prohibited driver.
A search of the vehicle also turned up nearly 13 grams of suspected cocaine with a street value of over $1,500.
Niagara police say Jevon Brown, 33, of Brampton, has been charged with flight from police officer, five counts of operation while prohibited, possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), and have care or control of vehicle with cannabis readily available.
Police say the vehicle has been impounded for 45 days, and that the accused attended a bail hearing on April 14.
