The big top is returning to Brampton this summer as the Royal Canadian Circus prepares to bring its all-new 2026 production to Shoppers World for five days of acrobatics, daredevil stunts and family-friendly entertainment.
The travelling circus will set up at Shoppers World, 499 Main St. S., from July 9 to 13 as part of a cross-country tour featuring more than 100 performances in communities across Canada.
This year’s show promises a mix of traditional circus artistry and modern theatrical production, combining international performers with elaborate lighting, sound and visual effects inside a 360-degree arena designed to give audiences a clear view of the action from every seat.
Among the featured attractions are Mongolian acrobats, flying trapeze artists, illusionists, unicycle performers, a motorcycle stunt team and a traditional circus clown. Organizers say the production is designed to appeal to multiple generations, blending classic big-top entertainment with contemporary staging and storytelling.
The show is described as an immersive experience focused on creating memorable shared experiences for families through a combination of spectacle, artistry and live performance.
Unlike many traditional circuses of the past, the Royal Canadian Circus operates as a fully animal-free production, reflecting a broader shift within the circus industry toward showcasing human skill, athleticism and performance rather than animal acts.
The Royal Canadian Circus has become a familiar summer attraction in Ontario and other parts of Canada, touring shopping centre locations and temporary outdoor venues under its signature big-top tent. The production draws performers from circus families around the world, many of whom represent multiple generations of aerialists, acrobats and daredevils. Ringmaster Joseph Dominik Bauer, for example, comes from a family with deep circus roots stretching back generations and has performed internationally throughout his career.
While traditional circuses were once known for animal acts, modern productions increasingly focus on high-risk aerial performances, acrobatics and stunt acts. The Royal Canadian Circus follows that trend, emphasizing international talent and theatrical presentation while maintaining many of the classic elements audiences have long associated with the big top.
Multiple shows will be featured throughout the weekend run at Shoppers World. General admission tickets start at $35, while premium and ringside seating options are also available. Children aged three and under can attend free when seated on an adult’s lap.
