‘Room to have fun’ on vacation for Ontario woman after $100,000 Encore lottery win

A vacation in Jamaica is in an Oshawa woman’s future after she matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the February 21 LOTTO 6/49 draw to win $100,000.

Janet Wallace, who works for a nonprofit organization, has been playing lottery games with OLG for the past 30 years. She likes to alternate between Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max and and always adds Encore to her tickets.

After discovering she won big, Wallace told her family the news. “They believed me immediately and were so excited for me,” she smiled. “It’s absolutely amazing! I don’t think it’s completely hit me yet, but I feel very grateful.”

With her winnings, the 54-year-old plans to invest for the future and enjoy a well-deserved vacation. “I went to Jamaica about 35 years ago, and I’d love to go back. With this prize, there’s room to have some fun.”

Encore offers 22 ways to win and can be played in conjunction with most lottery games for an extra $1. There are two draws every day.

The winning ticket was purchased at SkyFarm Food Mart on Simcoe St. N. in Oshawa.
