Police seek witnesses after multiple reports of rocks thrown from an overpass in Niagara Region.

Officers have responded to multiple incidents of rocks being thrown from the pedestrian walking path over Highway 58 in Thorold next to Pine Street Bridge, the OPP said on X on Wednesday.

“This has resulted in cracked windshields of passing motorists,” the OPP said.

In a similar case, rocks were repeatedly thrown at vehicles on Highway 48 in Markham last fall. The rocks are believed to be behind a crash that seriously injured two people.

Anyone with information into the Thorold incidents should call police or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
