Robber posing as personal support worker targets Burlington retirement home

An unlocked door at Burlington retirement home has led to the robbery of one of its residents.

Halton Regional Police say a man entered Burlington Gardens Retirement Home on Plains Rd. W. around 2 p.m. on March 1 through a door that was unlocked.

Once inside, the man went into the bedroom of one of the residents who was sleeping. When the victim awoke, she was told by the culprit that he was a personal support worker (PSW).

Police say the man fled the scene with $170 that he took from the woman’s purse.

An image of the suspect has been released by police.

He is white with a medium build and average height. He had short, dark hair and was wearing a grey down jacket with a hood and navy blue scrubs.
