Robber points gun at Halton Hills store workers

A brazen bandit pointed a gun at workers during a holdup at a Halton Hills thrift shop last night (Jan. 12).

According to police reports, a man went into the Salvation Army store on Mill St. in downtown Georgetown just after 7 p.m.

When he approached the checkout counter he pulled out a handgun, pointed it at workers, then demanded cash from the register.

The robber took the cash and fled the scene. There were no injuries.

Still, an employee at the store later described the experience as, “the scariest moment of my life.”

Halton Regional Police describe the culprit as white with an average build. He had a bandana covering his face and wore a grey hoodie pulled over his head.
