Roads closed, woman seriously injured in crash with dump truck in Brampton

A collision involving a dump truck and an SUV has sent one person to hospital this morning in northeast Brampton.
The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. in the area of Countryside Drive and Hwy. 50.
The 49-year-old woman in the SUV was taken to a trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene, police say.
Hwy. 50 is closed between Coleraine and Major Mackenzie, Countryside is closed at Coleraine, and westbound Nashville Road is closed as investigators remain at the scene.

The road closures are expected to last for another few hours.
Drivers should avoid the area and take alternate routes.
