Peel Regional Police have deployed numerous officers to Credit Valley Hospital in west Mississauga this morning (Sept. 30) to deal with what’s being described as a person in crisis.

As police deal with the situation, the public is being asked to avoid the area until further notice.

At 7:39 a.m., police were called to the scene of Eglinton Ave. W. and Erin Mills Pkwy., where the hospital is located, for what was first described as an “isolated incident that is contained.”

A heavy police presence remains at the scene.

Insauga has reached out to Peel police for further details, which police say they’re currently unable to share.

“Information is limited and the investigation is ongoing,” said police.

Multiple roads in the area are closed, including Credit Valley Road at Metcalfe Avenue, and the northbound and southbound lanes on Erin Mills from Eglinton.

Residents are asked to avoid the area.
