Roads closed for dangerous conditions, construction debris blowing off buildings in Mississauga

A road closure is in effect in Mississauga today (Dec. 11) owing to extremely strong winds.

As a result of the wind, construction debris has been blowing off buildings in the area of Confederation Pkwy and Webb Dr near Burnhamthorpe.

Webb is closed from Redmond to Duke of York, and Confederation is closed from Burnhamthorpe to Croatia until further notice.

Residents are asked to avoid the area and take other routes.

A wind warning remains in effect for Mississauga today, with very strong winds gusting upwards of 90 km/h into the evening.
