Road tests cancelled in Mississauga due to lockdown
If you have a road test scheduled in Mississauga for some time in the next 28 days, it will be affected by the lockdown.
DriveTest says that effective Nov. 23, 2020, all road tests at the Brampton, Downsview, Etobicoke, Metro East, Mississauga and Port Union DriveTest Centres are cancelled without penalty until further notice.
DriveTest says inside services at these centres continue with capacity and COVID-19 preventative measures in place.
According to DriveTest’s website, all driver examination services are available at DriveTest Centres located within the Red, Orange, Yellow and Green levels.
Peel (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon) and Toronto are currently in the grey lockdown zone.
Anyone who enters a DriveTest centre must wear a mask or face-covering while inside the centre and during road tests. Visitors must also sanitize their hands when they enter and undergo temperature checks before road tests.
Visitors are not required to wear face coverings during motorcycle road tests but are required to wear a face-covering to enter the DriveTest centre following their test.
The website says all visitors will be required to respond to a health screening questionnaire prior to entry into the building.
If you are feeling sick, have travelled outside of the country in the last 14 days (exceptions will be made for commercial drivers) or have come in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 you will not be allowed inside the centre and must visit at a later date.
Access to public washroom facilities will be available.
“With the new requirements for physical distancing and enhanced sanitation, we ask the public to be patient when visiting DriveTest Centres and Travel Point locations,” the website reads.
“If you do not need a driver's licence immediately, please consider waiting to visit a DriveTest Centre to help maintain physical distancing and reduce crowding at the Centres. The Ministry of Transportation has temporarily extended the validity of all driver and commercial licences - no one will lose their licence as a result of COVID-19.”
