Burlington road street construction delays traffic detour

Work to repair and upgrade a section of a busy Burlington street has started.

The work will take place on Guelph Line between Lakeshore Road and St. Clair Avenue.

Work will include fixing sidewalks and curbs, replacing roadway asphalt, upgrading street lights and the installation of pedestrian traffic signals.

The job is scheduled to continue through October.

Residents who live in the area have been told that vehicle access to their property may be difficult at times. Some trees will be removed to accommodate the work.

“When your driveway is inaccessible or closed, please park on a neighbouring street, or where no construction is taking place and parking
is permitted,” a message sent to residents from the City of Burlington reads.

As well, traffic will be disrupted through the area at times through lane closures although one lane in each direction on Guelph Line will remain open at all times.
