Leanne Blvd., looking toward Erin Mills Pkwy., in west Mississauga. Roads in the area will be closed for paving next week.

Roads at a busy intersection in the west end of Mississauga will be partially and fully closed next week to allow for street paving.

Region of Peel officials overseeing the project say road resurfacing work at the intersection of Erin Mills Pkwy. and Leanne Blvd./Fowler Dr., just north of the QEW and next to Sheridan Centre mall, will start next Tuesday (May 16) and continue in some areas until May 25.

The Region “…is in the final stages of intersection improvements at Erin Mills Pkwy. and Fowler Dr./Leanne Blvd.,” a project update noted.

Weather permitting, project leaders say the milling and paving operations will be carried out between May 16 and 18 during daytime and nighttime hours in attempts to minimize traffic disturbances.

“Due to the nature of the works, full road closures and lane closures will be required, and turning movements at the intersection will be temporarily blocked while work progresses,” officials say. “The traffic on Erin Mills Pkwy. will continue to operate with a single lane in each direction.”

Resurfacing work will lead to:

  • full road closures on Fowler Dr. from Tuesday, May 16 to Thursday, May 18
  • lane closures on Erin Mills Pkwy. from Thursday, May 18 to Thursday, May 25

All lanes will be open during the Victoria Day long weekend, between May 20 and 22.
