A City of Hamilton official says water crews are responding to a significant watermain break on Hwy 5 (Dundas St East) between Hollybush Dr. and Hwy 6.

“Due to the location of the watermain break, businesses and residents in the area are experiencing low to no water pressure,” according to the City. “Due to the severity of the break, there will be traffic restrictions in both the east and westbound directions for the next several hours.”

It is anticipated that the repairs will be complete by 4 p.m. Thursday (Mar. 11).

The cause of the break is currently unknown.

Residents and motorists are being asked to avoid these areas if possible.
