Road closures after vehicle hits pole in Mississauga

A driver crashed into a pole this morning along a busy street in Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police say the accident happened shortly before 9 a.m., near Third Street and East Avenue.
The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
It is unclear whether the driver had passengers in the vehicle during the incident and if they were also injured.
Investigators have not specified whether the driver collided with a utility pole, streetlight pole, or traffic light pole.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
Police have shut down the southbound lanes of East Avenue for further investigation. Officials have not confirmed when the roads will reopen.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes for the time being.
