Road closed while firefighters respond to gas leak in Mississauga

Residents are being asked to avoid part of a residential road in Mississauga. 

Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services (MFES) recently took to social media to announce that Blythe Rd. is closed from Doulton Dr. to the dead end.

The affected area is located near Mississauga Rd. 

Fire crews are on scene.

Alectra Utilities has also announced a power outage in the area (Mississauga Rd, Blythe Rd, Portway Ave and Springbank Rd area) that’s affecting approximately 254 homes and businesses.

Crews have been dispatched. 

Residents are asked to be aware of first responders working on roadways.

UPDATE: 

MFES says fire crews are on the scene of a natural gas leak on Blythe Rd. The roadway remains closed. 

UPDATE:

Peel police say surrounding homes have been evacuated as a precaution. Enbridge is on scene and crews will be working there for several hours fixing the leak.

No injuries have been reported.
