UPDATE: Road closed for police investigation in Brampton

A major road was closed in Brampton early Wednesday morning.

James Potter Road was closed between Valleyway Drive and Williams Parkway, Peel Regional Police said in a post on X around 6:30 a.m.

The closure was due to an ongoing police investigation. There was a police foot chase in the area, a police spokesperson told INsauga.com.

Police said there were no public safety concerns.

Drivers will need to take alternate routes, police said.

Transit riders may also experience delays as Route 6 James Potter is on detour in both directions at James Potter Road between Williams Parkway and Valleyway Drive.

Brampton Transit says to expect delays while police are on the scene.
