ROAD CLOSED: Fire at commercial building in downtown Brampton

Police are on the scene and say drivers and pedestrians should steer clear of downtown while emergency crews deal with a commercial fire.

Peel Regional Police say the fire broke out around 2:30 p.m. at a commercial building at George Street and Queen Street in downtown Brampton on Tuesday.

George Street has been closed both northbound and southbound from Queen Street to Neilson Street, and pedestrian traffic has also been closed on George Street.

No injuries have been reported but police say residents and drivers should avoid the area while emergency crews are on the scene.
