The ribs are returning to Mississauga!

Amacon and the Rotary Clubs of Mississauga and Mississauga West have announced the return of the “Drive-Thru Ribfest” set for June 25-27 at Erin Mills Town Centre.

“We are back,” said Lucie Shaw chairperson for the event. ““After a long, cold and isolated six months and with the province beginning to open up we are thrilled to be giving people something to look forward to.”

The drive-thru event builds on the success of a similar event last fall when the pandemic led to some innovation where patrons were able to order ribs from their cars.

During that mobile ribfest in October customers consumed more than 25,000 lbs of ribs.

Several popular food vendors will be returning for the upcoming event.

“We will continue with our drive-thru format and with the support of Erin Mills Town Centre we are able to bring the event back in an environment that protects the health and safety of all the families in our community,” Shaw continued.

“Strong measures continue to be taken to ensure the safety of both our guests and volunteers.”

Amacon has been a sponsor for the ribfest for the past 14 years which has become a popular tradition in Mississauga operated by the Rotary Clubs.

A fundraising event, Rotary has donated over $1.7 million to charitable causes raised through the event and this year the Mississauga Food Bank will be the recipient of the funds.
