Return visit to crime scene ends badly for Burlington burglar

Returning to the scene of the crime didn’t end well for a Burlington burglar.

According to police, a man broke into an apartment unit on Lilnan Court when the tenants were away between May 20 and May 31.

After rummaging through the residence, the suspect left stealing money, jewelry and alcohol.

However, according to the police, the man returned to the apartment again and stayed until he was discovered by the residents when they returned home on May 31.

Police don’t know why the man decided to remain at the apartment.

Halton police were called and the suspect was arrested at the scene.

A 55-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was arrested and since charged with breaking and entering..
