Retirement fund gets $500K following Brampton father’s big lottery win

Retirement years are looking more flush for a Brampton father after winning a $500,000 lottery prize.

Horace Fisher is a retiree and father of four who has been playing OLG games for the past 20 years, playing a variety of jackpot and instant-win games.

After two decades playing the lottery the Brampton man was stunned when seeing he’d won a jackpot prize of $500,000 in a recent draw.

“It was an overwhelming moment filled with happiness and excitement,” the Brampton father said while picking up his windfall at the OLG prize centre in Toronto, adding it “feels great to have won this prize.” Horace smiled.

The Brampton retiree says he’s going to use the prize money to pay some bills but will take his time “before making any big decisions.

Instant$500,000 Fortune was available for $10 a play with a top prize of $500,000. The OLG says it supports safe play and responsible gambling through its PlaySmart program.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shell on Bramalea Road in Brampton.
