A retired geologist hit paydirt without lifting a shovel or a hammer after winning a $100,000 top prize with Instant CROSSWORD TRIPLER.

Stephen Goulbourne, a retired geologist, calls his windfall “a lot of money” saying it “takes 10 years to save this kind of money.”

He’s been playing the lottery for 40 years. “I played my ticket and noticed I had four words. I thought I won $20 but about 20 minutes later, I decided to recount my words and noticed I actually had six words in total,” he shared while picking up his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “Then I noticed the payout was $100,000 but I still didn’t believe it.”

He has no plans for his win yet. “I might go see a hockey game and I will also share some with my daughter.”

Instant CROSSWORD TRIPLER is available for $5 a play and the top prize is $100,000. Odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.81.

The winning ticket was purchased at Bond Convenience & Gifts on Simcoe Street in Oshawa.
