Oakville drivers who use Ford Dr. can expect traffic delays and will have to find a different way to hop on and off the QEW as road work continues over the next 10 days.

Halton Region is currently resurfacing Ford Drive from North Service Rd. E. to 250 km north of Kingsway Dr. on weeknights.

The road work, which began May 1 and runs through to Friday, May 19, is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., weather dependent.

Access to the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) ramps will be intermittently closed during this period. In coordination with MTO, advance on-road signage will be installed on Ford Drive and the QEW.

Some minor sewer replacement work was completed before the resurfacing.

“Halton’s contractor will make every effort to minimize noise,” said the Region. “We will make every effort to complete the construction work as quickly as possible to minimize the impact of the night work. Emergency vehicle access and local access will be maintained at all times.

“Motorists should expect delays when travelling through the area.”

The Region is in coordination with the Town of Oakville to ensure noise by-law exemptions are in place.
