Residents escaped a fire at a highrise building overnight in Mississauga.

The fire broke out on an upper-floor balcony at 3120 Kirwan Ave., near Hurontario and Dundas streets, around 3:10 a.m. this morning, a Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson tells

A photo from the scene shows flames shooting out from the balcony.

The residents safely escaped and there were no injuries reported. Transit buses were on scene for the displaced residents of the building while fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze.
