Burlington residents who were hoping Mountainside Pool would be providing a summer reprieve from scorching temperatures are about to be disappointed.

The City of Burlington had hoped to have the revitalization project done by August, but due to strikes by excavator and concrete trades, that deadline will be missed.

The Mountainside Pool and Splashpark revitalization project began last September.

Once the revitalization is complete, the City hopes the facility, located at Mountainside Recreation Centre, 2205 Mt. Forest Dr., will be a fun and welcoming multi-use outdoor swimming pool that invites the community to participate and experience swimming and water play while encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle.

Highlights of the renovations include:

  • A new pool with a beach entry and three 50M lap lanes
  • Accessibility ramps
  • Water spray features
  • Climbing wall
  • Waterslide
  • Shade structures

A grand reopening is being planned for spring 2023. For more information, visit the city’s dedicated webpage.
