From aquatics to theatre to fitness, there’s something for everyone at the City of Burlington’s winter recreation programs.

“We have a great selection of recreation programs that focus on fun, skill building, socializing, fitness, health, art or a combination of all,” said Denise Beard, acting director of Recreation, Community and Culture.

“Have a look at the online catalogue and register early to ensure you get your spot in the program.”

Adult programs include sports, games, fitness, activities, social events, discussion and learning for adults of all ages. In-person and virtual courses are offered.

Youth programs include music and theatre programs, swimming lessons and aquatic leadership where youth can meet new friends, stay active or learn something new. Youth interested in joining the Junior Redcoats or Burlington Teen Tour Band can email [email protected] for more information.

Burlington residents will be able to register beginning Saturday, Dec. 3, at 9 a.m. for adult programs and at 11 a.m. for youth programs.

Non-residents can register for programs on Friday, Dec. 9.

Residents who need extra support or do not have online access to register for programs, can call 905-335-7738 for staff-assisted telephone registrations starting Dec. 3 at 9 a.m. The customer service team is also available Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and weekends 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In-person registration is available starting Monday, Dec. 5 at the Burlington Seniors’ Centre and Tansley Woods Community Centre.

The City also has a Recreation Fee Assistance program where funding is made available to Burlington residents or families who need help to pay for recreation programs. For more information, or to apply, visit here.

All programs are viewable online now. For more information or to register online, visit the city webpage.
