Regional funding available for community organizations in Milton, Burlington, Oakville

Local community organization in Milton, Oakville, Burlington and Halton Hills can now apply for funding from the Halton Region Community Investment Fund (HRCIF).

The HRCIF supports non-profit human service programs and initiatives that enhance the health, safety and well-being of Halton residents. Approximately $2.1 million is available for new grants in 2023.

Funding is available through two categories.

The first category provides up to one year of funding, for a maximum of $30,000. Non-profit, charitable or unincorporated community organizations can apply to fund short-term, small capital and/or innovative projects.

The second category provides up to three years of funding to registered charities for programs and initiatives.

Organizations that meet eligibility criteria may submit one application in each funding category. The initial application deadline for both categories is Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. Additional opportunities to apply for HRCIF funding will be available in 2023 for programs and initiatives that help respond to emerging community needs.

Virtual information sessions will be held for community organizations looking to learn more about the HRCIF and the application process on:

  • Friday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to noon
  • Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 2 to 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m.
