Regional council proposal ends mask mandate in Oakville, Burlington, Milton, Halton Hills

Halton Regional Council is expected to make it official that masks be no longer be mandated in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills.
The Regional mask mandate will end Wednesday, (March 23) if the staff recommendation is accepted by Regional Council at its upcoming meeting.
The provincial government announced recently that the mask mandate across the province would officially end on Monday, March 21, 2022.
After consulting with Halton Public Health and the Halton Medical Officer of Health, Halton Regional Staff will recommend amending the expiration clause of By-law No. 47-20.
It will now align with that of the province with the removal of masks or face coverings in most settings and repealing and repealing By-law No. 12-20.
If approved, the ending of the mask bylaw will go into effect immediate effect after the vote.
