The Town of Oakville is currently seeking feedback from residents on a proposed redevelopment on the southeast corner of Burloak Drive and Wyecroft Road.

The developer, 677 Burloak GP Inc., is seeking an Official Plan Amendment (OPA) for the proposed redevelopment on a piece of land situated at 677 Burloak Drive.

The proposed development includes four buildings for various uses on the site.

Amendments to the Livable Oakville Official Plan and the Zoning By-law are required to allow for the development of this site to add warehousing as a permitted use and to eliminate zoning restrictions in order to allow for drive-thru facilities.

The site is approximately 5.0 hectares (12.5 acres) in size and current access to the site is provided at a signalized intersection from Wyecroft Road.

The subject lands are located within the Burloak Employment Area and the property is located near several local amenities which include the RioCan Centre that features restaurants, a Cineplex entertainment facility and other retail uses.

A Petro Canada gas station also shares a common boundary with the site to the northwest.

The Planning Justification Report states that the proposal will “contribute to the development of a complete community.”

Additionally, it mentions that the proposal would also provide “flexibility to capitalize on new economic and employment opportunities, while also providing greater employment opportunities within the area.”

Feedback from residents is currently being sought out for this proposal.

The meeting is set to take place on Sept. 13, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. and will be live-streamed.
