RED CARD CLOSURE: Popular hamburger joint shut down due to health risks in Brampton

UPDATE: The restaurant has reopened after passing re-inspection on Tuesday, March 5.

Original story:

A popular Brampton restaurant has been shut down after failing a recent health inspection.

Friends Restaurant, known for their all-day breakfast menu, was inspected and closed by Peel Public Health on Wednesday, Feb. 28.

The restaurant is located at 1-155 Clark Blvd.

The inspection report states that the restaurant posed major health risks by not properly storing food to prevent contamination, not keeping potentially hazardous foods out of dangerous temperatures, not washing hands to prevent the contamination of food, and not protecting the restaurant from pests entering.

Various other infractions were also listed, including not properly washing and sanitizing utensils, and not maintaining the restaurant in clean, sanitary condition.

The restaurant remains closed until it can pass a follow-up inspection.

This is the only failed inspection on the restaurant’s public record.
