Police officers have announced a record-setting $25 million drug bust, but have released sparse details of the investigation so far.

More details are set to emerge about the investigation, dubbed Project Zucaritas, tomorrow morning. Peel Regional Police will unveil more about the project at 10 a.m. October 26 from their headquarters in Mississauga.

So far they have shared only that the Specialized Enforcement Bureau led a drug investigation which resulted in the massive seizure and numerous arrests.

Police have not specified how many people were arrested, or which drugs were found in what quantities. However, zucaritas is Spanish for “sugar,” a common slang term for powdered drugs such as cocaine or heroin.
